Everyone knows the legends about the cursed girl--Isabel, the one the señoras whisper about. They say she has green skin and grass for hair, and she feeds on the poisonous plants that fill her family’s Caribbean island garden. Some say she can grant wishes; some say her touch can kill.

Seventeen-year-old Lucas lives on the mainland most of the year but spends summers with his hotel-developer father in Puerto Rico. He’s grown up hearing stories about the cursed girl, and he wants to believe in Isabel and her magic. When letters from Isabel begin mysteriously appearing in his room the same day his new girlfriend disappears, Lucas turns to Isabel for answers--and finds himself lured into her strange and enchanted world. But time is running out for the girl filled with poison, and the more entangled Lucas becomes with Isabel, the less certain he is of escaping with his own life. 

2 Star Rating: It was okay, but it lacked in some aspects.

     I really love the whole idea of this book. I love how original it is and the idea of a girl with green skin, grass for hair, and a touch that could kill sounds pretty freaking awesome. I was really looking forward to this. But, when we are finally introduced to the "cursed girl," Isabel, I couldn't help but feel disappointed. Her character and overall personality just didn't really do it for me. I can't really explain it! There is just something about her... Also, Lucas didn't really do it for me either. Pretty much all the characters in this book had me feel this way. I can't explain it. Also, it was kind of weird how the two interacted with each other within like the first day of meeting. The way she talked to him, as if she has been friends with him for a long time. Within like the second day she was talking about him always doing this and that, etc. It was just stuck out as weird to me the way they would talk to each other sometimes.

       Now for the plot! I think overall the plot was pretty good. I love how unpredictable it is and how you never really know what is going to happen next. Like I have said about 3,000 times in this review, I think the idea of this book is awesome, and pretty original. This book, however, I think lacks in some aspects. It never really goes into depth about anything in this book, and the pacing was too fast at times. IT tends to jump around a lot. It never really stays in one scene for long. The duration of those scenes are over too fast, and it just left me wishing that the book dwelled longer in some parts of the book.

           Overall, this book was okay but, it lacked in some aspects.

This is going to/ already adapted into a movie so obviously, I have to read this one. Also, the synopsis really intrigues me!

9. This is Where it Ends By Marieke Nijkamp

I heard this was absolutely amazing and it literally makes you feel like you're in the character's shoes.

8. The School or Good and Evil By Soman Chainani

I heard this is a Hogwarts meets Disney princesses... Just a thousand times yes!!! XD Count me in! I can't wait to read it!

7. The Raven Boys By Maggie Stiefvater

I am finally going to read this book. Lately everybody had been obsessing over this book and the last installment is about to come out. I can't wait to see what all the hype is about! ;D

6.  A Darker Shade of Magic By V.E. Schwab

I keep hearing fantastic things about this book! I need to read it ASAP!!

5. Fangirl By Rainbow Rowell

My sister just finished reading this and absolutely LOVED it. If she likes it that means that it's got to be good! Excited to read it!

4. Jackaby By William Ritter

I heard this book was a mix of Doctor Who and Sherlock. Doctor Who is my favorite all time TV show and this is book has a doctor who vibe to it?!?! Just a million times yes, again! ;D

3. Unhooked By Lisa Maxwell

The synopsis of this book makes it seem absolutely amazing! I really can't wait to start this!

2. Salt to the Sea By Ruta Sepetys

I already know I am going to love this one and can't wait to read it. I should be able to get to it by the end of this week!!

1. The Rose and the Dagger By Renee Ahdieh
I absolutely love her first book, The Wrath and the Dawn! This is her second installment to the series and I am extremely excited to read this one! ;D

Bookish Crafts Fridays! {The Hobbit Door Rune Decor}

Hello, everyone!!! It's Friday therefore, that means its time for another Bookish Craft Friday. Last week I finally read The Hobbit By J.R.R. Tolkien! I absolutely have fallen in love with the whole middle earth world! CLICK HERE TO SEE MY REVIEW! So, obviously this week should be dedicated to The Hobbit! I got to thinking and was like wonder if I made the Rune that Gandalf puts onto Bilbo's door to call for all the dwarfs. Here is what is what I am talking about!

Here is the final product!

Now let's get into the details on how I made it!

MATERIALS

~Foam Board that is sticky on the opposite side(you don't have to use this, use what you desire)

~Black Paint

~ Scissors

~Computer

~White paper

~ Writing Utensil

STEP 1 and 2

STEP 1: First I needed a stencil to use so, I looked up a picture of the rune. I searched this, "The rune on the door in the hobbit."

STEP 2: Next, I took out my piece of my paper and traced it out with my writing utensil!

STEP 3

STEP 3: This is what it looked like after I traced it. Then I proceed to take out my scissors and cut it out!

STEP 4 & 5

STEP 4: I then proceeded to tape on the stencil I just cut out onto my foam board (if you do this you can use any material that you wish to use).

STEP 5: I then traced it out and removed the stencil.

STEPS 6 & 7

STEP 6: Since the only foam board color I had was brown, I decided to paint it black.

STEP 7: Once it dried, I then cut it out!

STEP 8

STEP 8: Put it on the door!

DONE!

Hello, everybody! It's Tuesday. and that means that it's time for another Top Ten Tuesday!! This week is all about Ten Characters Everyone Loves But I Just Don't Get or Ten Characters I LOVE But Others Seem To Dislike. I decided to go with Top 5 Characters that Everyone Loves But I Just Don't Get. These are five characters in books that everyone absolutely loves but, I just don't really like them or don't understand what the all the hype about them. Some of these I wouldn't say I particularly hate, I just don't love. Gosh, I am having the hardest time explaining this! Let's just dive right in! These are in no particular order.

TOP 5 CHARACTERS THAT EVERYONE ONE LOVES BUT I JUST DON'T GET

Peeta Mellark from The Hunger Games

I have nothing against Peeta! I just never really understood the hype about him. I can't really describe it! Same with Gale though. While reading, I just couldn't see what the hype was about. I am totally on Team Katniss.

Gale Hawthorne from The Hunger Games

Edward Cullen from Twilight.

Ginny Weasley from the Harry Potter Series
I was totally fine with her in the first couple of books, but as I continued to read I began to sorta dislike her.

Nash Hudson from My Soul to Take By Rachel Vincent
I don't have absolutely nothing against this guy! Besides the fact that I don't think he is good with Kaylee. Team Todd all the way! ;3
